From September 2021 through May 2022, I interned with the University of Georgia Office of Sustainability to manage its social media, put out newsletters and share information regarding the University's sustainable practices.

"On Tuesday, Dr. Peggy Brickman’s Honors Biology class helped us remove, sort and measure trash from the Trash Trap. The Trash Trap, donated to us by Storm Water Systems, is a device in Trail Creek that uses two arms to funnel litter into a trap that prevents it from flowing downstream. The New Materials Institute at UGA is using this trap to study what kind of waste is most likely to end up in Athens’ waterways.
Dr. Brickman’s class helped remove 37 lbs of trash from the Trash Trap on Tuesday.
The Trash Trap is a collaboration between Storm Water Systems, Athens-Clarke County Sustainability Office and UGA.

🌱Scenes from our Fall 2021 Semester in Review on Dec. 8.🌱

"20.6% of Athens-Clarke County is food insecure, according to 2017 data from Feeding America.
This week, we’re focusing on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 2: Zero Hunger. The target of this goal is to end hunger and ensure sustainable food production systems by 2030. Without sustainable food production feeding everyone enough worldwide, we can’t achieve a sustainable future.
What you can do to help end hunger at UGA and in Athens:
~Volunteer at and/or donate to Campus Kitchen, UGArden, UGA Student Food Pantry + Concrete Jungle
